Terms of service.

The terms under which OptAEO provides product data remediation and AEO scoring to merchants.

§ I

Service description

OptAEO is a product data remediation and AEO (Agentic Engine Optimisation) scoring platform for e-commerce merchants. The service scans product data, generates AI-powered fixes, computes visibility scores for AI shopping agents, and monitors data quality over time.

§ II

Account and access

You must have a valid Shopify store to use OptAEO (or a CSV/XML feed compatible with our upload flow). By installing the app, you authorise OptAEO to access your product data via the Shopify Admin API. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

§ III

AI-generated content

OptAEO uses AI models to generate product descriptions, FAQ content, meta descriptions, image alt text, and other remediation suggestions. All AI-generated content is a suggestion — you review and approve before any changes are applied to your store.

OptAEO does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or legal compliance of AI-generated content. You are responsible for reviewing all fixes before applying them, and for ensuring the resulting content meets your obligations under applicable law (including consumer protection, advertising, and intellectual property regulations in your jurisdiction).

§ IV

Scoring and metrics

AEO scores, compliance scores, and other metrics are directional indicators based on our proprietary scoring model. They do not guarantee specific outcomes in AI search results, Google Merchant Center approvals, or revenue changes. Scores are provided as analytical tools to guide data quality improvements.

§ V

Usage limits, scanning, and fix rollback

Scanning. Manual and automated scanning depend on your plan and on how the Service is implemented at any time. Without a paid subscription, full-catalog scanning may be limited, including limits on how often you may run or repeat a full assessment of your catalog. Paid plans unlock ongoing scanning, manual rescans subject to fair use and monthly API allocation, and scheduled rescans (for example via periodic jobs). Enterprise plans may receive additional updates when your commerce platform notifies us of product changes. We do not guarantee scanning at any specific clock time or interval; timing depends on infrastructure load, your plan, webhooks, and third-party APIs.

Fix rollback. Reverting an applied fix (restoring a prior field value through Fix History) is available only on Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans. The Free tier does not include rollback. Rollback is available only while the relevant fix record remains available in the Service; we do not warrant rollback for any fixed number of days or for fixes outside the history shown in the product.

§ VI

Billing

Paid plans are billed through the Shopify Billing API or Stripe. Monthly plans renew automatically. Annual plans are billed upfront with a 20% discount. You can cancel at any time through your Shopify admin or account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

§ VII

Data ownership

You retain full ownership of your product data. OptAEO does not claim any intellectual property rights over your data or the AI-generated fixes once applied to your store. We may use anonymised, aggregated data — for example, average score distributions and common issue types — to improve the service.

§ VIII

Service availability

OptAEO is provided "as is" and "as available." We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance. We are not liable for losses resulting from service downtime, AI model unavailability, or third-party API changes.

§ IX

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OptAEO's total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. OptAEO is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

§ X

Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. Upon termination, your access to the service will end and your data will be deleted within 30 days per our Privacy Policy. Sections on liability, data ownership, and dispute resolution survive termination.

§ XI

Fair use policy

Features described as "unlimited" are subject to a fair use policy. OptAEO reserves the right to review and contact accounts with usage that places disproportionate load on the platform, and may transition such accounts to a custom agreement.

§ XII

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the member state where the operator is based.
