Common questions
What's an AI agent?
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude all answer shopping queries with product recommendations. They read your catalog through structured data, llms.txt, and direct API calls. If your data isn't right, they recommend competitors instead.
How is AEO different from SEO?
SEO optimises for human shoppers reading Google search results. AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) optimises for AI agents directly answering shopping questions. Different signals, different stakes — increasingly the same shoppers.
What's MCP Access?
Model Context Protocol — the open standard AI tools use to talk to apps. With MCP Access we hand you an API key your Claude Desktop or Cursor can use to ask OptAEO about your catalog, get scores, and (Enterprise) trigger fixes from a chat window.
What is Auto-Pilot?
An agent that runs nightly on your schedule, finds new issues, applies fixes within the categories you've approved, and writes back to Shopify. You review the activity feed in the morning instead of clicking Apply Fix manually. Enterprise only.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes — upgrade or downgrade any time from the in-app Settings → Plan & Billing. Annual billing prorates on switch. No long-term contracts on any tier.
Do you support platforms beyond Shopify?
Today: Shopify (full integration) + CSV upload (any platform). On the roadmap: WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Etsy. Email support@optaeo.ai if your platform isn't listed.
Are you an agency or managing multiple stores?
